A New Chapter

“Who are you?” said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, “I—I hardly know, Sir, just at present—at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”
“What do you mean by that?” said the Caterpillar, sternly. “Explain yourself!”
“I can’t explain myself, I’m afraid, Sir,” said Alice, “because I’m not myself, you see.”

SoulWork Studio is changing. From this point on, SoulWork Studio will concentrate on expressive arts, primarily SoulCollage®. SoulCollage® is an intuitive process of creating collaged 8” by 5” cards that represent various parts or aspects of self, one’s major influences in life, and one’s community of important relationships. Seena Frost is the founder of SoulCollage®. She created the method and also a community of SoulCollage® facilitators. Seena is a trained Jungian therapist and an artist who noticed patterns in herself and clients that became more evident as she and they worked with collage materials. From these roots came a method, ways of interpreting SoulCollage® cards, and means of using card decks for accessing intuitive guidance.

I am a trained SoulCollage® facilitator and make SoulCollage® cards to express different areas of my own life. I offer people an opportunity to come to Joy Farm to learn and enjoy SoulCollage®. I am also available to work with and facilitate SoulCollage® for groups that may be interested in exploring a particular theme through making collaged cards. Some popular themes are: mother, child, happiness, playfulness, sorrow or grief, relationships, spiritual aspects of life, the shadow side of personality, “bright shadow” and internal wise person.

Other expressive arts that may interest people as they explore various aspects of self include “moving color,” creating masks, and mandala making. In addition, journaling and writing exercises can be very engaging, fun and useful in self-exploration.

In this blog, I will share some of my own explorations and offer possibilities for activities others may enjoy as they learn about who they are.
